For this week’s PL Tuesday, I’m playing a little Throwback (Tuesday) — I’m currently in the middle of big transitions (lazy summer days to work 3x/week + school) so before I get my groove back and finally join #letscatchuponprojectlife, here’s a favorite spread from 2013 that I absolutely love. (My 2013 is album is around 75% complete. Wonder why I can’t seem to do the same for 2014!)
March 18-24, 2013
I remember this week being an interesting one: I camped out at one of my favorite cafes in the city (Jane!) to finish up my thesis presentation, and attended a fun sign painting workshop that weekend. (I also must’ve ordered the MT washi tape because I was so stressed, haha!) I love this spread so much because of the big, bold typography (thanks to a professional sign painter no less; the Christine scrap was my name tag for the workshop!) Jane also had a great little tag from their utensils (what do you call a paper napkin ring?) that I saved — their logo is adorable.
If you notice, I played around a lot with black and white on this layout. I knew I had a lot of black and white elements from the sign painting workshop, not to mention Jane (aren’t those tables beautiful?) so I balanced it out with a black filler card from the Project Life Sunshine kit. The colors from the MT card, sign painting workshop, and Muni ticket (those are bus tickets here in SF: absolutely love that they come in different colors depending on the month, and they’re good souvenirs because they have dates on them!) balance out the layout really well.
A closer look!
I see Shake Shack behind that page protector… heehee 🙂
