Things have also been a little crazy (in the best way) for us the past couple of weeks as we’ve been working on the digital shop and other superexciting things. On the personal side, I’ve been busy too – I spent last week in Jakarta with my family, and got back early Saturday morning, in time to attend the Design Her Story conference.
Despite being sick, I had a good time, and was able to meet some local artists that I’ve admired on Instagram lately. It’s always fun attending Arriane‘s events because I know I’ll be surrounded by young + empowered + passionate go-getters.
That night we launched our digital shop, and I was so excited that I decided to use the Hello Weekend Printables right away. Here they are in full:
This was so quick to make – it only took me an hour, including printing the pictures. It helps that I have a Canon Selphy, which can wirelessly print photos from my laptop or cellphone. More info on that in this post.
All cards used here are from the Hello Weekend Printables – this card at the top right corner is a 3×4 card that I cut up and adhered to the sides of a 4×4 photo using washi tape at the back. I wanted to use an “official” photo explaining what the conference is all about.
I cut through the journaling card below so I could insert the conference nametag. I wanted to use it to help tell the story, instead of having it just in my room somewhere lying around. The Let’s Go sentiment is a reminder to myself that one of the main takeaways from the conference is to just go, jump, get started, figure things out along the way. Beside me in the photo is Reese Fernandez-Ruiz, founder of Rags 2 Riches. I love her! Such an inspiration. I’m so glad we could chat a little bit!
The picture below shows two cards in one – the white card is a journaling card that I trimmed down to make it fit within the larger 4×6 card. It’s blank right now because I wanted to write down the points from Marla Miniano’s talk about wishbones. I enjoyed her talk the most. 🙂 Still waiting for the decks to be sent by the Design Her Story team, so I’ll fill that in when I see the slides.
As part of the welcome kit, we got a free fan from Bayani Brew, an all-natural all-Filipino beverage from Gawad Kalinga Enchanted Farm. GK carries a special place in my heart, and I love the humor in their packaging/branding. Using a single-hole puncher I got from Office Warehouse, I punched holes in it so it could go in my album as well.
I really, really like how the colors play well together. Even the colors in the photos seem to match the ones in the printables! The Hello Weekend Printables are available at our digital shop here. We’re launching new designs also soonest, so watch out for those!
